Founder's Journey: From Personal Experience to Purpose
LifeLaunch Foundation is deeply rooted in a personal journey fueled by firsthand experiences, observations, and a profound commitment to making a difference. While I was not directly in foster care, my family's history and close connections with foster care deeply influenced my path and passion for creating LifeLaunch Foundation.
I witnessed the complexities and challenges faced by relatives who entered the foster care system due to various circumstances, including parental drug use and neglect. As an adult, my personal journey led me to foster a sibling group of four while raising my own four children. Through this experience, I gained firsthand insights into the foster care system's intricacies, challenges, and the critical need for support and guidance.
My interactions with case managers, witnessing frequent turnover and overwhelming caseloads, illuminated the system's inefficiencies and gaps. While essential tasks often received attention, non-critical aspects frequently slipped through the cracks, impacting young adults' transitions into independence.
These experiences, coupled with a passion for advocacy and empowerment, drove me to establish LifeLaunch Foundation. Our foundation is dedicated to empowering young adults transitioning from foster care by providing essential resources, guidance, and support to navigate the complexities of adulthood successfully. Our mission is to ensure that every young adult exiting the foster care system is equipped with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to thrive independently and build a promising future.
Through LifeLaunch Foundation, we aim to transform challenges into opportunities, fostering resilience, empowerment, and self-sufficiency among young adults transitioning from foster care. Together, we can create a brighter, more promising future for every individual we serve, embodying the spirit of compassion, empowerment, and transformative change.
